Emperor's Concerto. The rehearsal

Cartão Gulbenkian programme

Event Slider

The Russian pianist Alexander Melnikov joins the Gulbenkian Orchestra to perform Beethoven’s final Concerto for Piano and Orchestra, a monumental work that redefined the standards of the classical concerto. Under the direction of Hannu Lintu, this program is completed with the symphony Mathis the Painter by Hindemith, inspired by the opera of the same name that reflects the artist’s role in a changing society.

The Cartão Gulbenkian holders will have the opportunity to attend the rehearsal of this concert before its premiere, in a unique moment of proximity to the musicians and the creative process.
