Diálogos Improváveis at Panteão

Gulbenkian Choir

Event Slider

In the spaces and generous acoustics of the Panteão Nacional [National Pantheon], the theme of Diálogos Improváveis will, as has been the habit, present contrasting musical styles and languages: the 17th century, represented by one of Portuguese composer Diogo Dias Melgás’s expressive Lamentações, and 19th-century romanticism, in the form of Mendelssohn and Rheinberger (the imposing Cantus Missae). In addition to Metamorphoses by Britten for oboe, performed by Pedro Ribeiro, the Gulbenkian Choir will also sing one of Japanese composer Toru Takemitsu’s compositions and The Deer’s Cry, one of Estonian Arvo Pärt’s most intimate works.
