In the third of three extraordinary collaborations between the genius of Mozart and the creative stage writing of Lorenzo da Ponte, Così fan tutte, an opera buffa in two acts, a jocular drama takes place that many consider to be one of the most inspired and elevated pieces of thought-provoking entertainment in the operatic repertoire. Although it did not enjoy a very enthusiastic reception at its debut, this satire on relationships between men and women would become extremely popular from the mid-19th century onwards. The witty nature of this libretto inspired Mozart to compose some of his most effusive and narrative-driven music for it.
