• He is a regular visitor at his cousin Francisco Abel Moutinho’s home, also from Angra do Heroísmo, who back then was an administrator at the newspaper Diário de Notícias, Lisbon, and quickly enters Lisbon’s press scene. His cousin’s son, Pedro Moutinho, who would later become a journalist and broadcaster for national radio and the national TV station, RTP, had his portrait painted in oils by António Dacosta this year or the next.
  • He begins to frequent A Brasileira, a coffee shop in Chiado, where he meets a number of Lisbon-based writers, journalists and artists, and becomes a regular customer.
