Mónica Bettencourt Dias, Director of the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência, has been appointed the new co-chair of EU-LIFE, as of 1 January 2020. René Medema, Director of Research of the Netherlands has been appointed the new chair. 

EU-LIFE was set up in 2013 to unite forces working on excellence in the life sciences and to share best practices in management, recruitment and promotion of excellence. Another key mission of EU-LIFE is to influence the European research agenda with the motto: today’s discoveries are the foundation of tomorrow’s European prosperity and well-being. The Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência is the representative of Portugal in the Alliance.
