IGC-led research highlights anticancer drugs in sepsis treatment

Research led by the IGC reveals how these drugs limit inflammation, positioning them as potential treatments for sepsis. The study, published in eLife, reveals that this class of drugs used in cancer treatment limits the unrestrained production of inflammatory mediators by the immune system. The discovery positions these drugs as potential treatments for inflammatory diseases, such as sepsis, which kills as much as or more than oncologic disease.
