There are 14 photos from Gulbenkian Science Institute (IGC) scientists, whose work explores several areas: from genetics to cell biology, immunology or the study of infectious diseases. The exhibition will be available at the Jardins do Palácio Marques de Pombal, in Oeiras, from September 17 to November 17, 2019.
The initiative aims to present the scientists human brains, behind of the most incredible discoveries. Throughout the exhibition, visitors will get to know some of the experts responsible for scientific advances that contribute to improve lives.
As visitors walk through the gardens, they will learn about the work of scientists and discover how they treat diseases such as diabetes, characterize cell division and how cells become cancerous, or discover how bacteria live with the disease by antibiotics resistance.
In order to promote contact with science and bring the science community closer, there will be several activities over the coming months with researchers participation. The knowledge they generate in Oeiras laboratories is brought to society in initiatives that aim to make known the latest scientific advances that contribute to improving people’s quality of life.
