Since winning the London International Piano Competition in 2009, the Uzbek pianist Behzod Abduraimov has earned himself an outstanding place among the most prodigious musicians of his generation. Regarding his interpretation of Pictures at an Exhibition, by Mussorgsky, the magazine Crescendo wrote that “Behzod Abduraimov paints these canvases with the different elements of a fascinating fresco, with its timbres, colours, discipline and rhythmic impulses which bring an undeniable maturity to this masterly score”. In addition to his superb technique, Abduraimov also possesses an extreme sensitivity, as he brings new worlds to life in each interpretation.
